Catalogue Raisonne

The catalogue is the culmination of the Foundation's many years of research into the life and works of Jasper Cropsey.

Volume I, 1842-1863
The first volume of this scholarly publication covers Cropsey's oil paintings from 1842 - 1863. Approximately 800 paintings by this prolific artist are included, with about 250 illustrated in color. The publication also features an extensive biography of the artist by the Foundation's Director, Anthony Speiser. In addition, bibliography, index, chronology, and several other appendices are included.

Volume II, 1864-1885

Volume II includes Mr. Speiser's essay on Cropsey's self designed country estate, Aladdin. Situated on 100 acres in  Warwick, NY, Aladdin was known as one of the finest homes in Orange County, NY. The twenty year period of this volume includes many of the Fall scenes that would lead Cropsey to be known as "America's Painter of Autumn".
